CERTOSA DI PAVIA

The Certosa was commissioned by the Duke of Milan, Gian Galeazzi Visconti, at the end of the 14th century, and built a few kilometres from the town of Pavia. It is now home to a community of Cistercian monks. It contains a rich collection of precious artworks and the mausoleum of the Sforza Duke, Ludovico il Moro and his wife, Beatrice d’Este.
